The authors of the presentation about AGL virtualization on L4Re give a hands-on walk-through the setup and implementation details of their virtualization PoC.

The PoC showcases the L4Re hypervisor partitioning AGL into two VMs of different criticalities. One VM runs a full AGL distribution with a pass-through access to all hardware of the R-Car3 H3 board except for the CAN bus. The CAN bus is driven by the second VM, which runs a minimal PREEMPT_RT-enabled AGL distribution. The two VMs are spatially and temporally isolated from each other, but the full AGL VM can access the CAN service running in the minimal VM using a high-speed VIRTIO
